Lucie Jones X Factor Finalist (nearly!)

Lucie Jones is the 18 year old singer from Pentrych in Wales who amazed all the judges on her X-factor audition after singing a fantastic version of Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You. She managed to sail through the first rounds of the competition, was put into the live shows by her mentor, Danni Minogue, and we fully expected her to go all the way to the finals until she was beaten in the 5th week by Jedward following a deadlock.

Our Wonder Girl is new WonderBra Girl!

wonderbra14/09/2010 -Things just get better and better for Lucie, as if performing in the West End wasn't enough she's now been unveiled as the new Wonderbra girl.

We remember when Lucie joked last year about how she would like bigger boobs (cue numerous comments begging her not to go under the knife) and now it looks like she's found the perfect compromise. Can I hear anyone complaining? I don't think so!

The first Wonderbra model was Eva Herzigova who famously caused controversy when the billboards she featured on were blamed for numerous car crashes as motorists became "distracted".

The "Full Effect Bra" costs around £28 and promises to boost cleavage by up to two sizes.

Lucie makes her West End debut in Les Miserables

09/07/2010 -Performing at the Queen's Theatre, West End, London, she said that she was "so excited" to be playing the part of Cosette alongside Nick Jonas (who plays Marius) on Saturday night (10/07/10).

It must be particullarly sweet for Lucie to have landed this role as it was reported that she has turned down an audition for the show so that she could enter the X-factor. The role of Cosette is excellent for Lucie as it involves some very big songs and some even higher notes!

Lucie joins Kym Marsh, Lisa Scott-Lee and others for Charity

19/04/2010 -Lucie Jones along with over 20 female celebrities and hundreds of women from across the UK are part of Cancer Research UK’s unique charity single; a re-recording of Cyndi Lauper’s 80s classic ‘Girls Just Want To Have Fun’. Lucie Jones features in the video which can be seen at youtube by clicking here.

The single is released on on 26th April 2010 to mark the start of the Race for Life series – the UK’s largest women-only fundraising event, For more information about Race for Life please visit: www.raceforlife.org

1,318 viewers complained to Ofcom

ofcom complaints26/01/2010 -It has been revealed that Ofcom received more that 1300 complaints following Lucie Jones eviction from the X-factor in week five of the show. However, Ofcom have distanced itself from the debate stating that the show clearly stated that the judge's decision is final nd that it was powerless to intervene. On a separate issue, the show was heavily criticized by the media regulator as a Westlife performance in October contained flashing lights that were five times faster than the safe level.

Lucie Lands Top Modeling Deal

Model Contract20/12/2009 -It will come as no surprise to many, but there was a lot of interest in Lucie Jones during the X-factor that wasn't strictly related to her singing talents! It was announced today that she has won a contract with Select Model Management who have helped launch the careers of models such as Stella Tennant and Agyness Deyn

Read more about Lucie Jones model contract here.

Lucie Performs in Cardiff

singing in cardiff12/11/2009 -Lucie appeared in Cardiff city centre to the delight of hundreds of fans as she attempts to lauch her career outwith the X Factor show. During the short show fans were delighted when Lucie told them "I've got absolutely no bitterness as it's done me the world of good and really pushed me to pursue this career and I won't stop until I get it."

Watch the Lucie Jones video on the BBC website here.

Lucie Jones is out of the X Factor

evicted08/11/2009 -Thank you very much Simon! Well to say we're all surprised would be an understatement. The arguements will continue long into the night and probably for the rest of the series.

Another Rocking Performance for Lucie Jones

This is Me Camp Rock07/11/2009 -As predicted earlier, tonight Lucie Jones sang This is Me from the Disney movie Camp Rock for week 5, movie week. Sticking with the rock chick image that went down so well last week, Lucie again received glowing praise from all four of the x factor judges. Simon even thought that she had made herself "relevant as a pop artist”, hopefully the voting public will agree as we await the results show on Sunday night. Watch Lucie Jones sing Camp Rock here.

It's "Movie Week" on the X Factor- Camp Rock for Lucie?

Camp Rock07/11/2009 -Week five sees the contestants take on songs from the movies (leaving them all with a fairly vast choice of styles and songs to choose from). The rumours are that Lucie will sing This Is Me from the Disney movie Camp Rock, John and Edward will perform Ghostbusters (come on, we all love that movie!). Our personal view is that this will be the week that either Danyl Johnson or Lloyd Daniels (if he's well enough to sing). According to all the papers John and Edward will be more than safe based on surveys and the bookies.

Third time unlucky for for Rachel Adedeji

Rachel Adedeji evicted01/11/2009 -For the third time in four weeks Rachel again found herself in the bottom two, this time alongside Lloyd Daniels. Both had been favourites with the bookies to go this week so it was no great surprise when with just the final 3 acts remaining, Dermot told us that the twins were safe again and a chorus of boos emanated from the studio audience. Lloyd, with a sore throat, could barely talk let alone sing. The judges could not decide and so it came down to the public vote again and Rachel was finally sent packing.

Guns N Roses classic brings out the best in Lucie

Lucie Jones Rocks31/10/2009 -As predicted here yesterday Lucie really did get as rock as as you can get and pulled of a fantastic version of Sweet Child of Mine, originally by Guns N Roses. Simon finally conceded and piled on the praise for Lucie saying that she had been boring last week but took it all back tonight "you gave it 100%". Louis likened her to a little Avril Lavigne and said that tonight had proved she can sing anything. Watch the rock transformation as Lucie sings Guns N Roses here.

Sweet Child Lucie Jones set to Rock!

Sweet Child30/10/2009 -It's rock week this week, with rock legends Bon Jovi set to appear on the results show, and Lucie Jones (if reports are to be believed) will be singing...wait for it......Guns N' Roses! Yes it's true, the rumour is that Lucie will be doing a version of Sweet Child of Mine on Saturday night. We hope that it's true as it will hopefully show that she has more range than many believe. John and Edward are meant to be doing a version of We Will Rock You, which again will be unmissable - if only for Simons comments.

Hey Mr Tambourine Man!

joe, lucie, danyl and stacey27/10/2009 -Well it's not been too happy a place in the X-Factor house this week. First there were reports that during rehearsals, Joe McElderry, accidentally hit Lucie Jones in the head with a tambourine leaving her with a bruised nose. Then Danyl Johnson was accused of bullying Stacey Solomon in an article in the Daily Mail. Then finally the twins, John and Edward, were said to have caused bedlam with their fans apparently "getting their boobs out and all sorts" at the house, according to the Sun newspaper (wonder what the all sorts were?). Should be a lively show on Saturday then!

First shock result as Miss Frank are evicted

Miss Frank Evicted25/10/2009 -Miss Frank found themselves in the bottom two along with Danyl Johnson tonight. No one was more surprised than Simon to find his act singing for survival and it just shows that nobody has a guaranteed place in the finals. Cheryl was left with the deciding vote and decided to let the public make the final choice and so with Miss Frank receiving the fewest votes they exited the X Factor in this, the third week. Louis is now left with just the one act, John and Edward, in the competition. Oh well, there's always next year Louis!

A sensational Lucie Jones on big band night

Ella Fitzgerald24/10/2009 -Tonight’s show saw Lucie at her best as she performed the Ella Fitzgerald ballad, My Funny Valentine. Earlier in the week the x factor contestants had a visit from supreme crooner, Michael Bublé. The multi-million album selling star was clearly impressed with Lucie Jones saying that she was pitch perfect and that people will go crazy for her. She certainly lived up to expectations tonight! Looking gorgeous in a long red dress she received glowing praise from Louis, Cheryl and Dannii, Simon was his usual self though. Watch Lucie jones sing Ella Fitzgerald here.

Will Lucie Jones be rocking next weekend?

Bon Jovi X Factor22/10/2009 -So it's only a couple of days until Lucie graces our screens again on Saturday night and the suspense of what she'll sing is killing us! We know that the star guests for next Sunday nights results show will be last years runner-ups, JLS, and rock legends Bon Jovi will be performing their new single We Weren't Born to Follow. But what will our Welsh wonder be singing this week- any suggestions? Let us know what you think or have heard on the grapevine by leaving a comment here.

So it's bye bye Rikki as Rachel survives the bottom two again

Rikki Loney Eviction18/10/2009 -Rikki Loney became the second contestant to be voted off the X-factor tonight. The 21-year-old from Dennistoun, Scotland went head to head against Rachel Adedeji after the public had voted. Predictably and understandably the two contestants mentors chose their own acts to stay in leaving Simon Cowell with the deciding vote (Louis was still absent following the death of Stephen Gatley). He surprised most by sending home Rikki. Watch Rikki Loney being evicted here.

Lucie sings Whitney Houston on X-Factor's second live show

Whitney Houston song17/10/2009 -Lucie sang the classic "How Will I Know" by this weeks guest performer Whitney Houston and even showcased her dancing skills! She was first up this week and received mixed comments from the judges. Louis was again missing from the panel. Cheryl seemed to be unsure of the performance saying that something wasn't quite clicking but both Dannii and Simon gave her warm praise. Dannii thinks that she is a diva in the making! Watch Lucie Jones sing Whitney Houston here.

Second week of X-Factor live shows for Lucie Jones tonight

Cheryl Cole Fight for this Love17/10/2009 -First of all apologies from us, we've been very quiet on the website this week but with good reason- we disappeared from Google so no one could find us! The problem seems to be fixed now so onward and upward for tonight's live show. We're not sure if Cheryl will be singing her new single on the Saturday or Sunday show but we do know it won't be live. She's received a bit of stick in the press this week as her performance will be pre-recorded but lets hold back on comment until we've seen it. Anybody got any clues as to what Lucie will sing? A couple of sources think it might be Whitney Houston’s "How Will I Know". Let us know you views by leaving a comment here.

Robbie Williams "I would have struggled on X-Factor"

Robbie Williams X Factor Interview12/10/2009 -Having spent some time with this years X Factor hopefuls, Robbie Williams said that he would have struggled to make it into the shows finals. Robbie performed his new single Bodies on Sundays show and is said to have admitted that he would have had no hope against acts like Lucie Jones, Joe McElderry or Stacey Solomon. Playing live in Britain for the first time in three years he said that he couldn't pick a favourite from this year's contestants- we can!!

Kandy Rain are the first act to be evicted from X Factor

Kandy Rain11/10/2009 -So no great surprise on who was first out but maybe the greatest shock was who they were up against. Rachel Adedeji found herself in the bottom two with Kandy Rain. John and Edward were first to be told they were safe (Simons face was a picture-ha!) and then Lucie Jones was next up to learn she was safe. Watch a video of x-factor first eviction here. Ah well, they may still have a career in music somehow- just look at how well the cheeky girls did and they never made it past the auditions on Popstars!

First X Factor eviction tonight- Will Lucie Jones be safe?

First Live Show11/10/2009 -Cheryl thought her voice was absolutely stunning, Louis thought she "nailed it" (god I hate that expression!), Dannii said that she had shown tonight that can do that type of song but Simon, maybe predictably, thought that she didn't quite hit the big notes. Watch Lucie Jones sing Leona Lewis on x-factor. The results will be on tonight at 8pm but Louis Walsh will not be appearing following the sad news that Stephen Gately of Boyzone died yesterday. Our thoughts are with Stephens' family and friends.

Lucie Jones sings Leona Lewis tonight

Robbie Williams Lucie Jones10/10/2009 -So tonight's the night that the real fun begins for Lucie. Any clues as to which Leona Lewis song she'll be covering? On the night that Robbie Williams is thought to be making his comeback, she was quoted earlier in the week as saying “All I can say is that it’s a big song and I have big boots to fill". Be sure to watch tonight from 8 o'clock and be sure to get your votes in!

Video of Lucie singing the Scouts song added.

Scout Song Recording08/10/2009 -To be honest we're not too sure if Miss Jones is going to thank us too much for finding this video but hey! it helped her be the person she is today we guess. Lucie Jones was a member of the Girl Guides in 2007 and took a major part in singing the official song Jambo at the World Scout Jamboree. Yes it's pretty cheesy, but everyone looks like they had fun and you can hear how good she is. Watch the Lucie Jones Scout song here.

Lucie and Rikki rumours start already!

Lucie and Rikki06/10/2009 -Well I suppose we wouldn't be in Britain if we didn't have the usual tabloid stories starting to do the rounds questioning if love is in the air? Lucie Jones and Rikki Loney were spotted out and about together and straight away some papers are asking if they're this years Diana Vickers and Eoghan Quigg. Maybe they were just shopping? (make a comment)

She's done it! X Factor Finals next.

made the finals!04/10/2009 -We thought the X-Factor were going to stretch this one out but we were so wrong! First up to go was Dannii giving the news to her 6 girls with Lucie being the first to find out her fate, did we ever worry she'd not get through? Never! but still nervous all the same. Watch the announcement here that Lucie Jones is an x-factor finalist yay!

Off to Dubai: Lucie is in Dannii Minogue’s group

Dannii Minogue03/10/2009 -Be sure to be watching at 8pm on the 3rd of October as we wait to see the decision of who makes it through to the live shows. Dannii has flown her girls off to Dubai, Louis takes the groups to Lake Como, Cheryl’s lucky boys are in Marrakesh and Los Angeles welcomes Simon’s Over 25s. Watch the video

X Factor Bootcamp: Here comes Lucie

Lucie Jones bootcamp audition26/09/2009 -Lucie Jones made it through to bootcamp after yet another fantastic audition in front of the judges. This time she sang Christina Aguilera’s Hurt and didn't seem to put a foot wrong. Asked afterwards how she thought it went she said “Oh my God, I’m top of the world”. Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh both loved her performance and told her that she was ‘born to sing’ Click the link to see her bootcamp audition

Lucie Jones: why we came to Wales!

Lucie Jones first audition05/09/2009 -At her first audition Lucie Jones told the X-Factor judges that she would be singing I Will Always Love You, "Are you sure you want to do that?" asked Simon, as it has been murdered in the past by so many young hopefuls but our Welsh starlet made him eat his words as she blew everyone away! Amongst the glowing praises, Simon said “Lucie, this is why we come to Wales". Click the link to see the her first audition

"I'm gutted. Lucie stepped in and came to Luton for the turning on of the Christmas lights, but I missed it. It was supposed to be someone from this year's x-factor (which I wouldn't have cared about), but they pulled out. If I'd have know it was Lucie, I'd have been there for sure :( I'm glad to see people keeping up the interest on here because she really does have star quality, even if Simon 'half-wit' Cowell doesn't see it. I can only hope that the west-end experience does as much for her as it seems to have done for Diana Vickers, giving her more confidence, an epic amount of stage presence and, ultimately, a record deal. Is there a mailing list anywhere where I can keep up-to-date with what's going on so I don't miss any more opportunities?"

"This year there are a few that could win X Factor but last year I thought Lucie was the best by far. Glad to see you are working n the West End and the pictures from Wonderbra look amazing... hope you are still going to record an album as you were great at the rock songs"

"Lucie Jones had star quality in her audition, and has since, got better and better. I absolutely adore her rendition of 'Sweet Child O' Mine.' I wasn't pleased about her losing out to Jedward but things happen for a reason and either way she would have gained something from participating in the competition because she's too good to let go, and she's proved us right. She's one of the few current artists who obtains a strong voice and wide vocal range. Would be great if Lucie released an album, top of my christmas list, I think so."

"i think it sucks that lucie went out but simon make the popular dissions rather than the right ones he could give a shit about anyone but himself. Im real pissed off that she didnt win cause she sung one of the hardest songs in the world to sing and f****n nailed it shes true tallent and f****n john and edward (who he hated in the first place) of all people f*****n a cats choir out of tune could sing but than them but simons a hypocrite and a parsite but i just cant wait to see lucie hit the no1 spot in the charts with her single and album and if i was her id turn around to simon and f**k you i did it my way. By the way. as you can proberly tell lucie means a hell of a lot to me i love her loads and forever xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx "

"Lucie is a complete artist. Her rendition of 'one moment in time' was better then that of Whitney Houston. One of the judges has an eye for cash rather than talent. "Lucie Jones performance in her first audition in Cardiff was the best I have heard from any X factor contestant ever. For Cowell to vote for Jedward in the sing off was a n insult and disgrace"

"the two voiceless clowns are still around together with the not only voiceless but out of tune blond lad. Simon talks about puppets all not rehearsed of course, yet in the xtra factor magically, not planned at all, 2 puppets appear figurines of the twins! but of course the prgram is not fixed! when will they stop insulting our intelligence? Sorry lucy but i could only see 3 finalists, Joe , stacey and you, but today talent does pay enough for simon anbd co, he wants money, they kill music and sell crap like rap, or the shit the twins interpreted today 21/11/09, they dont care about great voices like yours or stacey, they sale music like washing powder. "

"Although Lucie's high note is not all powerful, her voice is the most beautiful in the competition. I won\'t be watching the show again, except for finding out who wins. XFactor should get rid of the judge's mentoring teams."

"keep it up lucie ur amazing, was very shockeed on sunday! jedward shud have gone out, you were the best in the show, you should enter xfactor nextyear and then i know you will win, if yod didnt go out of the comp on sunday i knew you had a chance of winning xxxxx keeo it up xxxxxxxx"

"Well, I kept to my word, and boycotted X-Factor tonight. I hope others did the same as well. In fact, I'm boycotting anything to do with Simon Cowell and X-Factor in future (apart from Lucie of course!), since the guy clearly gets off on believing he's God, when in fact he's one of the most pathetic people to ever disgrace this planet. I was going to buy Alexandra Burke\'s and Leona's new albums, but again because this would be putting money straight into Simon Cowell's pocket, I'll spend my money elsewhere. Also, when TalkTalk want me to renew my contract, if they're still sponsoring that sort of corruption, then they'll get the brush-off as well. All the best to you Lucie. I've listened to you speaking on the radio, and you\'re still so gracious about everything that's happened. You really put Simon Cowell to shame!! I'm sure that the days of him and his silly show are numbered now, since the public in general won't stand for being treated as complete idiots by that contemptuous git!!"

"Sting recently claimed that X Factor "put music back decades" and was little more than "televised karaoke". This I would suggest applies particularly to Cowell's three acts and the twins but Lucie is most certainly the exception... she can sing. Talking of Sting, I would love to hear and see Lucie sing "Fields of Gold" - I'm sure she would do it justice and make the same impact as she did in the first audition. Good luck Lucie."

"I know it's late in the week but I'm still angry over the result that led to Lucie's being out of X. Simon's weak excuse for his actions to go to the public vote was as weak as he is a man to stand by his opinion that the singing competition should be won by someone who can sing. The twins would be better of on some talent comp that doesn't require them to open their mouths. I will buy every record you make because you made every song I heard worth listening to and the twins were forgettable in every way. The program is corrupt whilst Cowell has a vote and I wish the public would get behind a petition to have you reinstated. No sorry you are better than that, you can make it without Cowells sick program and the sooner they take it off the air the better."

"Lucie, I have voted for you every week!!! I think you are fantastic. you have done us welsh girls proud. Would buy any music you produce. Saturday was a shock to us all. We all thought you could have gone on to win it. Good luck for the future we are all behind you x x x "

"My heart bleeds for Lucie. Dont give up girl, and pay no heed to the nonsense that you were unable to connect with the public, utter rubbish. Your a class act and deserved far better treatment from Mr Cowell. Believe me, genuine, well mannered, nice people with a superb talent, can make it big in the music industry. The sooner you can get away from the Cowell influence the better. Get yourself a decent agent who actually cares about you and move on to bigger and better things. Can I place my order for your first record now. Thank you for bringing some class to my Saturday evening viewing. "

"Hi Lucie thats good that Simon has now admitted that he was wrong what he should do now is bring you back on the show and exclude you from this weeks vote since you won't have alot of time to practice."

"Lucie must strike while the iron is hot and get a cd/video out before christmas, entitled \"This is me\". This should contain all of her performances on the x factor and a single of the same name. This song should be her signature song it fits her like a glove. Simon Cowell should change his name to Simon Coward after the way he failed to do what was asked of him and make a decision, he should stop hiding behind his \"the public have voted\" stance and do what he is there to do and judge between the final two acts. I am a 62 year old grandfather of 4, lucie\'s voice, looks and personality rocks, get something out soon Lucie.

Steve (Aberdeen):

"You are a winner Lucie. With a voice like yours you can never be anything else. If you release music people will buy it - I'll be the first in the queue. Good Luck. Also, people should get into more classical music like Einaudi, expand your minds!"

"We are all still fuming with Simon We just don't understand how he has always hated Jedward and yet he keeps them in over you its completely rediculus but please don't let this bring you down Lucie keep singing, keep chasing your dream and you will catch it evantually xxx Mark.."

"Lucie, You where the best on the night and the best in the show. Simon voted of the best to save his guys from coming up against you. Dont worry you will make it now. The UK is behind you. You where the BEST. Thankyou for bringing talent to the show."

"simon has been bitching for weeks that the twits, sorry, twins shouldn't be in the show. He actually had a chance to get rid of them last night. Well if the twins win he should grin and bare it as he has no right to comment anymore. He is tactically removing the opposition and that is wrong. Bring back the pop idol way of voting, the public should vote and the judges should have no say in the matter. If this form of voting was used the brats would have been gone long ago. I still say the voting is rigged and last night proved it. If the twins win, i for one will not be watching the show again. "

"I was a very big fan of X factor, if lucie had been in Simon group, then lucie will have won x factor 2009, Simon has lost a graet deal of fans in the uk, Simon seams to think he is bigger then the show, Simon is going to learn, that he can fall by the way side, like so many other people in his industry, it is sad that simon has lost a lot of respect, due to his own engender, Simon it seams to me you can not see the bigger picture, due to his ego, simon did you think for one minute, about lucie famliy, they will be up set, due, to the fact the best singer in the sing off, yet again has left the show, well done simon, simon you need your own chat show, and the only guest on your show, should be your self Simon, then you can listen to your own voice. "
