Lucie Jones X Factor Finalist (nearly!)
Lucie Jones is the 18 year old singer from Pentrych in Wales who amazed all the judges on her X-factor audition after singing a fantastic version of Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You. She managed to sail through the first rounds of the competition, was put into the live shows by her mentor, Danni Minogue, and we fully expected her to go all the way to the finals until she was beaten in the 5th week by Jedward following a deadlock.

Our Wonder Girl is new WonderBra Girl!
14/09/2010
-Things just get better and better for Lucie, as if performing in the West
End wasn't enough she's now been unveiled as the new Wonderbra
girl.
We remember when Lucie joked last year about how she would like bigger boobs (cue numerous comments begging her not to go under the knife) and now it looks like she's found the perfect compromise. Can I hear anyone complaining? I don't think so!
The first Wonderbra model was Eva Herzigova who famously caused controversy when the billboards she featured on were blamed for numerous car crashes as motorists became "distracted".
The "Full Effect Bra" costs around £28 and promises to
boost cleavage by up to two sizes.
Lucie makes her West End debut in Les Miserables
09/07/2010 -Performing at the Queen's Theatre, West End, London, she said that she was "so excited" to be playing the part of Cosette alongside Nick Jonas (who plays Marius) on Saturday night (10/07/10).
It must be particullarly sweet for Lucie to have landed this role as it was reported that she has turned down an audition for the show so that she could enter the X-factor. The role of Cosette is excellent for Lucie as it involves some very big songs and some even higher notes!
Lucie joins Kym Marsh, Lisa Scott-Lee and others for Charity
19/04/2010 -Lucie Jones along with over 20 female celebrities and hundreds of women from across the UK are part of Cancer Research UK’s unique charity single; a re-recording of Cyndi Lauper’s 80s classic ‘Girls Just Want To Have Fun’. Lucie Jones features in the video which can be seen at youtube by clicking here.
The single is released on on 26th April 2010 to mark the start of the Race for Life series – the UK’s largest women-only fundraising event, For more information about Race for Life please visit: www.raceforlife.org

1,318 viewers complained to Ofcom
26/01/2010
-It has been revealed that Ofcom received more that 1300 complaints following
Lucie Jones eviction from the X-factor in week five of the show. However,
Ofcom have distanced itself from the debate stating that the show clearly
stated that the judge's decision is final nd that it was powerless to intervene.
On a separate issue, the show was heavily criticized by the media regulator
as a Westlife performance in October contained flashing lights that were
five times faster than the safe level.
Lucie Lands Top Modeling Deal
20/12/2009
-It will come as no surprise to many, but there was a lot of interest in
Lucie Jones during the X-factor that wasn't strictly related to her singing
talents! It was announced today that she has won a contract with Select
Model Management who have helped launch the careers of models such as Stella
Tennant and Agyness Deyn

Lucie Performs in Cardiff
12/11/2009
-Lucie appeared in Cardiff city centre to the delight of hundreds of fans
as she attempts to lauch her career outwith the X Factor show. During the
short show fans were delighted when Lucie told them "I've got absolutely
no bitterness as it's done me the world of good and really pushed me to
pursue this career and I won't stop until I get it."
Watch the Lucie Jones video on the BBC website here.
Lucie Jones is out of the X Factor
08/11/2009
-Thank you very much Simon! Well to say we're all surprised would be an
understatement. The arguements will continue long into the night and probably
for the rest of the series.

Another Rocking Performance for Lucie Jones
07/11/2009
-As predicted earlier, tonight Lucie Jones sang This is Me from the Disney
movie Camp Rock for week 5, movie week. Sticking with the
rock chick image that went down so well last week, Lucie again received
glowing praise from all four of the x factor judges. Simon even thought
that she had made herself "relevant as a pop artist”, hopefully
the voting public will agree as we await the results show on Sunday night.
Watch Lucie Jones sing Camp Rock here.
It's "Movie Week" on the X Factor- Camp Rock for Lucie?
07/11/2009
-Week five sees the contestants take on songs from the movies (leaving them
all with a fairly vast choice of styles and songs to choose from). The rumours
are that Lucie will sing This Is Me from the Disney movie Camp
Rock, John and Edward will perform Ghostbusters (come on, we all
love that movie!). Our personal view is that this will be the week that
either Danyl Johnson or Lloyd Daniels (if he's well enough to sing). According
to all the papers John and Edward will be more than safe based on surveys
and the bookies.
Third time unlucky for for Rachel Adedeji
01/11/2009
-For the third time in four weeks Rachel again found herself in the bottom
two, this time alongside Lloyd Daniels. Both had been favourites with the
bookies to go this week so it was no great surprise when with just the final
3 acts remaining, Dermot told us that the twins were safe again and a chorus
of boos emanated from the studio audience. Lloyd, with a sore throat, could
barely talk let alone sing. The judges could not decide and so it came down
to the public vote again and Rachel was finally sent packing.
Guns N Roses classic brings out the best in Lucie
31/10/2009
-As predicted here yesterday Lucie really did get as rock as as you can
get and pulled of a fantastic version of Sweet Child of Mine, originally
by Guns N Roses. Simon finally conceded and piled on the praise for Lucie
saying that she had been boring last week but took it all back tonight "you
gave it 100%". Louis likened her to a little Avril Lavigne and said
that tonight had proved she can sing anything. Watch the rock transformation
as Lucie sings Guns N Roses here.
Sweet Child Lucie Jones set to Rock!
30/10/2009
-It's rock week this week, with rock legends Bon Jovi set to appear on the
results show, and Lucie Jones (if reports are to be believed) will be singing...wait
for it......Guns N' Roses! Yes it's true, the rumour is
that Lucie will be doing a version of Sweet Child of Mine on Saturday
night. We hope that it's true as it will hopefully show that she has more
range than many believe. John and Edward are meant to be doing a version
of We Will Rock You, which again will be unmissable - if only for
Simons comments.
Hey Mr Tambourine Man!
27/10/2009
-Well it's not been too happy a place in the X-Factor house this week. First
there were reports that during rehearsals, Joe McElderry, accidentally hit
Lucie Jones in the head with a tambourine leaving her with a bruised nose.
Then Danyl Johnson was accused of bullying Stacey Solomon in an article
in the Daily Mail. Then finally the twins, John and Edward, were said to
have caused bedlam with their fans apparently "getting their boobs
out and all sorts" at the house, according to the Sun newspaper (wonder
what the all sorts were?). Should be a lively show on Saturday then!
First shock result as Miss Frank are evicted
25/10/2009
-Miss Frank found themselves in the bottom two along with Danyl Johnson
tonight. No one was more surprised than Simon to find his act singing for
survival and it just shows that nobody has a guaranteed place in the finals.
Cheryl was left with the deciding vote and decided to let the public make
the final choice and so with Miss Frank receiving the fewest votes they
exited the X Factor in this, the third week. Louis is now left with just
the one act, John and Edward, in the competition. Oh well, there's always
next year Louis!
A sensational Lucie Jones on big band night
24/10/2009
-Tonight’s show saw Lucie at her best as she performed the Ella Fitzgerald
ballad, My Funny Valentine. Earlier in the week the x factor contestants
had a visit from supreme crooner, Michael Bublé.
The multi-million album selling star was clearly impressed with Lucie Jones
saying that she was pitch perfect and that people will go crazy for her.
She certainly lived up to expectations tonight! Looking gorgeous in a long
red dress she received glowing praise from Louis, Cheryl and Dannii, Simon
was his usual self though. Watch Lucie jones
sing Ella Fitzgerald here.
Will Lucie Jones be rocking next weekend?
22/10/2009
-So it's only a couple of days until Lucie graces our screens again on Saturday
night and the suspense of what she'll sing is killing us! We know that the
star guests for next Sunday nights results show will be last years runner-ups,
JLS, and rock legends Bon Jovi will be
performing their new single We Weren't Born to Follow. But what
will our Welsh wonder be singing this week- any suggestions? Let us know
what you think or have heard on the grapevine by leaving
a comment here.
So it's bye bye Rikki as Rachel survives the bottom two again
18/10/2009
-Rikki Loney became the second contestant to be voted off the X-factor tonight.
The 21-year-old from Dennistoun, Scotland went head to head against Rachel
Adedeji after the public had voted. Predictably and understandably the two
contestants mentors chose their own acts to stay in leaving Simon Cowell
with the deciding vote (Louis was still absent following the death of Stephen
Gatley). He surprised most by sending home Rikki. Watch Rikki
Loney being evicted here.
Lucie sings Whitney Houston on X-Factor's second live show
17/10/2009
-Lucie sang the classic "How Will I Know" by this weeks
guest performer Whitney Houston and even showcased her
dancing skills! She was first up this week and received mixed comments from
the judges. Louis was again missing from the panel. Cheryl seemed to be
unsure of the performance saying that something wasn't quite clicking but
both Dannii and Simon gave her warm praise. Dannii thinks that she is a
diva in the making! Watch Lucie Jones sing
Whitney Houston here.
Second week of X-Factor live shows for Lucie Jones tonight
17/10/2009
-First of all apologies from us, we've been very quiet on the website this
week but with good reason- we disappeared from Google so no one could find
us! The problem seems to be fixed now so onward and upward for tonight's
live show. We're not sure if Cheryl will be singing her new single on the
Saturday or Sunday show but we do know it won't be live. She's received
a bit of stick in the press this week as her performance will be pre-recorded
but lets hold back on comment until we've seen it. Anybody got any clues
as to what Lucie will sing? A couple of sources think it might be Whitney
Houston’s "How Will I Know". Let us know
you views by leaving a comment here.
Robbie Williams "I would have struggled on X-Factor"
12/10/2009
-Having spent some time with this years X Factor hopefuls, Robbie Williams
said that he would have struggled to make it into the shows finals. Robbie
performed his new single Bodies on Sundays show and is said to
have admitted that he would have had no hope against acts like Lucie Jones,
Joe McElderry or Stacey Solomon. Playing live in Britain for the first time
in three years he said that he couldn't pick a favourite from this year's
contestants- we can!!
Kandy Rain are the first act to be evicted from X Factor
11/10/2009
-So no great surprise on who was first out but maybe the greatest shock
was who they were up against. Rachel Adedeji found herself in the bottom
two with Kandy Rain. John and Edward were first to be told they were safe
(Simons face was a picture-ha!) and then Lucie Jones was next up to learn
she was safe. Watch a video of x-factor
first eviction here. Ah well, they may still have a career in music
somehow- just look at how well the cheeky
girls did and they never made it past the auditions on Popstars!
First X Factor eviction tonight- Will Lucie Jones be safe?
11/10/2009
-Cheryl thought her voice was absolutely stunning, Louis thought she "nailed
it" (god I hate that expression!), Dannii said that she had shown tonight
that can do that type of song but Simon, maybe predictably, thought that
she didn't quite hit the big notes. Watch Lucie Jones sing Leona
Lewis on x-factor. The results will be on tonight at 8pm but Louis Walsh
will not be appearing following the sad news that Stephen Gately of Boyzone
died yesterday. Our thoughts are with Stephens' family and friends.
Lucie Jones sings Leona Lewis tonight
10/10/2009
-So tonight's the night that the real fun begins for Lucie. Any clues as
to which Leona Lewis song she'll be covering? On the night
that Robbie Williams is thought to be making his comeback,
she was quoted earlier in the week as saying “All I can say is that
it’s a big song and I have big boots to fill". Be sure to watch
tonight from 8 o'clock and be sure to get your votes in!
Video of Lucie singing the Scouts song added.
08/10/2009
-To be honest we're not too sure if Miss Jones is going to thank us too
much for finding this video but hey! it helped her be the person she is
today we guess. Lucie Jones was a member of the Girl Guides in 2007 and
took a major part in singing the official song Jambo at the World
Scout Jamboree. Yes it's pretty cheesy, but everyone looks like they had
fun and you can hear how good she is. Watch the Lucie
Jones Scout song here.
Lucie and Rikki rumours start already!
06/10/2009
-Well I suppose we wouldn't be in Britain if we didn't have the usual tabloid
stories starting to do the rounds questioning if love is in the air? Lucie
Jones and Rikki Loney were spotted out and about
together and straight away some papers are asking if they're this years
Diana Vickers and Eoghan Quigg. Maybe they were just shopping? (make
a comment)
She's done it! X Factor Finals next.
04/10/2009
-We thought the X-Factor were going to stretch this one out but we were
so wrong! First up to go was Dannii giving the news to her 6 girls with
Lucie being the first to find out her fate, did we ever worry she'd not
get through? Never! but still nervous all the same. Watch the announcement
here that Lucie Jones is an x-factor finalist
yay!
Off to Dubai: Lucie is in Dannii Minogue’s group
03/10/2009
-Be sure to be watching at 8pm on the 3rd of October as we wait to see the
decision of who makes it through to the live shows. Dannii has flown her
girls off to Dubai, Louis takes the groups to Lake Como, Cheryl’s
lucky boys are in Marrakesh and Los Angeles welcomes Simon’s Over
25s. Watch the video
X Factor Bootcamp: Here comes Lucie
26/09/2009
-Lucie Jones made it through to bootcamp after yet another fantastic audition
in front of the judges. This time she sang Christina Aguilera’s Hurt
and didn't seem to put a foot wrong. Asked afterwards how she thought it
went she said “Oh my God, I’m top of the world”. Dannii
Minogue and Louis Walsh both loved her performance and told her that she
was ‘born to sing’ Click the link to see her bootcamp
audition
Lucie Jones: why we came to Wales!
05/09/2009
-At her first audition Lucie Jones told the X-Factor judges
that she would be singing I Will Always Love You, "Are you
sure you want to do that?" asked Simon, as it has been murdered in
the past by so many young hopefuls but our Welsh starlet made him eat his
words as she blew everyone away! Amongst the glowing praises, Simon said
“Lucie, this is why we come to Wales". Click the link to see
the her first audition
